What To Do If You See A Child Having A Tantrum In A Public Place

If you’re a parent (or guardian) with small children you will no doubt be painfully aware of the excruciating agony caused by the public tantrum.

We’ve all been there. Right? Happy kid one minute. Screaming public spectacle the next.

Plus our little darlings pick the most embarrassing places and/or times to execute their high-pitched scream-a-thon for maximum impact.

Why I Still Buy Books and You Should Too

What was the last book you bought? I mean a proper book. Made out of paper. With real pages. And an actual cover. Where you had to venture out to a bookshop to buy it. When you allowed yourself more time than you’ll admit to just looking at all the delights on offer. Picking up titles, reading the blurbs and putting them back again. Until you found it. The one. The next adventure you could enjoy in your fluffy socks with a nice cup of tea and maybe a biscuit. Custard cream, obviously!

Why You Should Be A Lion Or An Elephant But Not A Tiger

Have you ever heard the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”? Well someone didn’t just make that up because it sounded cute.

You cannot raise a child completely on your own. I mean technically you can. But why would you? We are social creatures. Our babies need to learn to be social too.

The Most Important Mama-Lesson I’ve Learned So Far.

I waited until my friend took GinGin and Roo out of the nurse’s room and I cried. I sobbed my little heart out on the nurse’s shoulder. It was too much. I’d managed to hold myself together in front of the girls. But once they were out of sight, and I knew they were safe, I couldn’t hold it in any longer.

My 5 Top Picks: Gifts for a One-Year Old

“What do you buy a one year old? Seriously. What the actual heck do you get for them?”

If these words seem familiar then you may have read them in my first ever blog post where I revealed that there was less than eight days to Roo’s first birthday, and I had no clue about what gifts to get her. Well it was Roo’s big-girl-number-one birthday last weekend. And yes – before you start to panic – she did have some presents to open. The only thing I remembered about GinGin’s first birthday was that we went massively overboard with the amount of stuff we got for her. I mean it took her two days to open them all. TWO DAYS! I was determined we wouldn’t make that mistake again.

Crikey – It’s Happening!

I’ve been putting off starting this blog for about a year now. One. Whole. Year. There are so many reasons why I’ve been the ultimate procrastinator over this little project. But, mostly, it comes down to fear.
